The City Council of La Zubia has resolved more than 600 incidents and breakdowns in the past seven months. Residents have reported these issues through WhatsApp thanks to a new service created by Citizen Participation and Works and Services.

Since October last year, when the telephone number was established for incidents, the Consistory is able to communicate with Zubien directly and inform them about any cleaning problems, illegal dumping, breakdowns or other issues.

Puri Lopez, mayor of La Zubia, stated that “we are well aware of the many cleaning and maintenance issues that La Zubia has suffered from over the years.”

Zubians have the option to report any incident by calling 673 909 139. They can also send photos and a brief explanation to the municipal workers. Natalia Arregui, Councilor for Citizen Participation, says that most complaints were resolved within the first seven months.

Each neighbor reporting an incident to the councilor is called by the councilor, who will explain whether it has any effect on the City Council. There are certain notices that we can’t solve quickly. These include the cleaning of private lots for safety reasons, sewers and manholes (those dependent on Telefonica or Endesa), or notices that require more time because they depend upon an economic item like paving a street. The councilor says that they want neighbors to know that they are listening and that we are trying to solve their problems.

La Zubia’s mayor thanks neighbors for their cooperation with the service. Together, they can maintain the municipality in the best possible conditions and fix the maintenance and cleaning issues that have plagued it for many years.
