Francisco Gongora (the mayor of El Ejido) visited these days with Jose Francisco Rivera (the councilor for Finance and Contracting), Angel Callejon, the president and chief of the Local Board and technicians from the municipality. They saw the new Multiple Use Center in the center of Matagorda with the goal of defining its social, cultural and sporting uses, as well as the spaces that will allow it to operate and the dependencies that will soon be operational.
The work on this space started in February last year. It was completed a few months later, after the project was modified in January and the budget increased.
It is therefore a functional and modern building that is light-sensitive. This nucleus has received an investment of over one million euros. It is social, it’s a place for intergenerational coexistence and a point of meeting.
The highest municipal official said that the infrastructure was in high demand because Matagorda did not have the right location to conduct the various activities and projects organized by the City Hall or the Local Board.
The building measures 2,250 square metres. It has an exterior view and a garden area. To this is added a multipurpose sports court, changing rooms, and toilets.
