Two months before the planned EU exit of great Britain are hardened the fronts between London and Brussels. EU leaders granted the request of the British side after a renegotiation of the Northern Ireland clause in the exit contract with a clear cancellation.

Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, warned on Wednesday against the “risk of a disorderly exit,” which had become, with the corresponding vote of the British Parliament are larger. “We need to be prepared for all scenarios – even on the worst of it.”

The situation seemed to be on Wednesday completely bogged down, because the British requests were not with the attitude of the EU to agree. The EU leaders had already made before the vote by the British Parliament on Tuesday night clear, that you reject renegotiations to the final exit agreement. According to the London vote, affirmed Jean-Claude Juncker and European Council President Donald Tusk refusal. The lower house had voted on the eve of the the majority of for follow-up negotiations on the so-called catch-all solution for the North of Ireland and their replacement by “alternative scheme”.

In Brussels, this caused a head shake: “No man – on the one as on the other side can say, today, how such “alternative arrangements” could look like”, said EU chief negotiator, Michel Barnier, to the European Parliament.

“Endless talking”

The Irish foreign Minister, Simon Coveney pointed out that provisions of the Northern Ireland-question “in the last two years of Negotiations, endlessly discussed”. “We have found no alternative solution.”

Commission President Juncker told the members that it was now “more necessary than ever that the EU remains calm and resolute, as she was so far in this process”. As an “Optimist by nature” think that, but he still reached an agreement with Brussels.

In a point of Brussels and London agree that A “hard Brexit” without exit the contract is to be prevented, because all of a sudden grown Connections caps for decades, with incalculable economic damage would. The lower house agreed on Tuesday as a majority for a resolution in which it rejects a so-called No-Deal-Brexit.

May still hopes

The Parliament offered, however, no consensus about how such a scenario could be averted. The Prime Minister May, hopes to be able to the EU, but concessions in the Northern Ireland scheme wrest.

May be speculated that Parliament agrees to end the present discharge of the contract, if all other options fail. Other options – such as a second Brexit Referendum, or a complete Expose of the exit procedure rejects May yet.

a point of contention between London and Brussels is in the agreement-written catch-all solution for Northern Ireland. It provides that the United Kingdom love in a customs Union with the EU, should be found before the expiry of a transitional period up to the end of 2022 no better solution. Thus, the EU wants to prevent that by leaving the EU for a hard boundary between the British province of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

In the UK, the standard rules for gaining a foothold on rejection, because they could lead to the permanent fate of the country in the customs Union. Such a definition is to avoid the critics in the UK. (hvw/sda)
