Sally Van Hecke (20) on 10 August 1996 by the two children was found dead on the beach of Sint-Anneke on the Antwerp Left bank. Her killer was never identified, but after more than 22 years indicates the misdaaddocumentaire ‘Cold Case’ on VTM, still an offender.
The study indicated in 1996 that Sally was last seen in the Antwerp red light district around 4 o’clock in the morning by two friends. They testify how they, the young drug addict mother saw boarding in an American blue vintage car that was driven by a man with a ponytail. The autopsy report shows that Of Hecke, an hour later the head was smashed. Her killer is never identified.
The dossier was concluded in 2005 by the police and the parquet, but it is twelve years later reopened when investigative reporter Kurt Wertelaers aanklopte in the Antwerp court. “My personal analysis points to one man,” says Wertelaers, which from 7 February on tv explaining how he suspected offender new.

Twenty years after the murder of Sally Van Hecke pulled Kurt Wertelaers to her mother Lydia. “I wanted to do something more than the umpteenth ‘herdenkingsartikel’ writing,” says Kurt. “With Lydia’s blessing, I’m on research went. The police was there already in 2005, finally stopped so I walked no one in the way.” Warranties could Wertelaers Sally’s family will not give. “I have them even literally said that I am on a certain day at their door could stand with the message that I have no new element had.”
