Being trapped under a glass dome on a grim, dangerous planet sounds like a nightmare scenario in itself. In addition, aggressive aliens live there who are after all alien life forms.

This leads to a struggle for survival. And in “Dome Keeper” players are right in the middle. Under the glass dome you are constantly exposed to waves of alien attacks.

It’s all about building up defenses and using the weapons and skills you have to fend off the baddies. After all, you only want to have friends under the glass.

Since your own defense not only costs a lot of strength, but also a lot of resources, you go underground between each wave. Luckily you are already sitting on the necessary raw materials in your small mine.

You can use them to keep your equipment up to date. This is the only way to keep the ever-stronger opponents at a distance.

The search for the only three different types of mineral resources is not particularly complicated. But since there is rarely more than a minute until the next attack, there is a lot of time and efficiency pressure.

But it’s worth the haste. Finally, taking down even more heavy enemies at once with new explosive attacks is a lot of fun.

With its classic and impressive pixel graphics, “Dome Keeper” also looks really good. The game always remains true to its constant cycle of defense and the search for raw materials, which in itself promises little real variety.

But anyone who likes this game principle should remain motivated in the long term. Because asserting yourself against the almost endless monster waves can be quite addictive.

“Dome Keeper” is available for PC and costs 18 euros.
