Last night, the jury of the X International Chamber Music Contest “Anton Garcia Abril”, announced the categories for today’s final phase. 9 groups were able to access the results. 3 of them are Spanish. The rest are from Germany, France, Italy, France and Switzerland. The Spanish finalists are from Madrid and Salamanca.

Yesterday was a very intense day in Baza’s Dengra Theater, where the qualifying stage of the X International Chamber Music Competition Anton Garcia Abril took place. It allowed for the viewing and listening to of high-quality formations that made it difficult for the jury to classify them.

A jury made up musicians of high reputation, including Jose Manuel Gil de Galvez (leader, Concerto Malaga), Isabel Villanueva, Esther Lopez (trumpet, Bilbao Symphony Orchestra), Javier Herreros, (pianist and pedagogue, Granada), and Enrique Garcia Asensio (president), who announced last night their decision to classify the following groups for the Final Phase. They will perform at the Dengra Theater today: Liv Quartet. Clarinet (Frankfort Germany). Sirius Accordion Trio. Sauti Duo, Accordion (Bari in Italy). Duo Lilium, Percussion in Poland and Alicante (Spain). Duo Ziriab sings and plays the piano in Madrid, Spain. Trio Jakov. Flute and guitar (Strasbourg in France). Piano Trio (Amsterdam, Netherlands), Kambras Quintet. Brass wind (Lucerne, Switzerland). Ensemble Auftakt. Ensemble Auftakt. Synthesis Quartet. Saxophone (Salamanca, Spain)

After the final performances, the jury will decide whether to award prizes to the best formations. The Closing Gala will begin at 8 p.m. and will include the award ceremony as well as the concert by the award-winning bands.
