The Ciudad Deportiva de los Juegos Moriscos de Purchena hosted the first triathlon in the town this weekend. It was held to support Antonio Francisco Garcia, a local athlete who hopes to qualify for the Paris Paralympics in 2024. The Consistory organized the test. It was more than a competition. It was also intended to promote the sport and highlight the challenges faced by the local triathlete.
Juan Miguel Tortosa was elected mayor of the city to express his support for the triathlete. He also sought the cooperation of residents to support the athlete as he travels long and difficult roads to Paris 2024 to qualify for the Paralympics. Purchena would be representing Spain in this important international sporting competition.
Antonio Francisco Garcia, the person responsible, was also present at the act and addressed the young participants in I Triathlon City of Purchena to discuss the sport’s dynamics and his personal and sporting plan. The athlete wanted to express his gratitude for all of the support he received.
This event, which includes athletics, is part of Purchena’s cultural and sports week. It was organized by “Larasport”, an organization that specializes in the management of sports events and activities.
