Two of the four police officers who on may 29 were injured in the attack in the centre of Liège, would become the victim of so-called “friendly fire”. That confirms the expert research, that the RTBF in June already could read.
The agents were hit by shots from the antibanditisme platoon of the Liège police. The brigade did several shots, after the offender Benjamin Herman tried to escape from the school building where he had hidden. Two of those shots wounded two other police officers that are about 120 meters away stood. the
Herman had previously been two police officers and a young student killed. The man was on a prison furlough when the attack had committed. the
RTBF reported earlier that two policemen were wounded by shots from colleagues, but the news is now also publicly confirmed by the research.
