For example, a team of researchers from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology recently analyzed 34 everyday plastic products for their chemical content. Among them were kitchen sponges and shampoo bottles, but also a lot of food packaging, such as beverage bottles and yoghurt and coffee mugs. 55,000 different chemical components were found in them, of which only 629 could be identified.
