Steve Bowens got something of a nasty experience when he was out surfing at the south-west English coast.

A wave tilted the English man of his surfboard, then his face smashed directly into the board.

Now he has undergone a further operation.

the Accident happened back in February, and Steve remembers only snatches of the violent episode.

– It was not a big wave. It was only about a meter high. But I landed completely wrong, and surfbrættet hit me right in the face between my eyes, says Steve Bowen to the Mirror.

The English man considers itself as a fairly experienced surfer, but he has a hard time to understand how it could go so wrong.

It felt as if I was hammered in the face with a baseball bat. It was so violent that I fainted.

– When I came to consciousness, I could see that I dripped with blood down on the board. I have never seen so much blood before, says Steve.

As the next wave approached, managed Steve Bowens to catch it and headed towards the beach.

On the beach he was greeted by a crowd of shocked people who got called for an ambulance.

When Steve arrived at the hospital, told a doctor that he had broken his nose, gotten a deep gash in his forehead, and his eyes and cheeks were severely damaged.

the Two surgeons had to work together, to save his face. The operation took nine hours.

today is Steve Bowens recovered roughly over his injuries and surfer still every now and then.
