Cyclone Kenneth, that this week the north coast of Mozambique reached, hit “a zone where since the era of satellites, no tropical cyclone was observed,” noted the WMO in a statement. Kenneth followed barely a month after the passage of cyclone Idai more in the south of Mozambique and in Malawi and Zimbabwe, where more than a thousand deaths.
“There is no remembrance of two storms of such intensity that Mozambique in one and the same season saw,” added the UN agency added. The described Kenneth as a “tropical cyclone without equal”.
