Mrs. Reiser, a month ago you were elected councillor for youth, family and citizen services. Have you been settling in?
This is a big change. I have, however, encountered a good Director, who welcomed me very warmly. My predecessor, Sandra Obermeyer gave me a fortunately – also on the scope of work. Now gewöhneich me piece by piece to the new task. I was prescribed before the District and know the BVV sessions, but it is now still quite new, and to sit exciting as the front.
are you studied theatre scholar and have been shadowing at the volksbühne, the Berliner Ensemble and the schaubühne. Now they are part of the administration. What went wrong?
This is a highly competitive market here in Berlin. There are many capable people and very few Ask. Eventually the point was reached where the Shimmy of a fee contract fee contract has provided for me, no future. I no longer wanted to give me and had to leave therefore the theatre. It wasn’t easy. I had to get my bearings only once, and to me a new task search.
your new task, you have then found the train station mission. There you will have to work a lot with homelessness – an issue that is of concern to the district. How to face the challenge of the homeless?
I identify myself is still very strong with the railway mission, and much of the takeaway. Since January I now know but also the perspective as a councillor, and I understand that you can protect employees in the case of incidents such as the Ulap Park, and their behavior would like to explain. As a private person, I’m shocked but again and again. Everyone who was no longer with the station mission, is aware of the very complex and multiple problems of the Affected. That is why it is important that homelessness is discussed in the media and politics finally. Because that is just in the middle, not a new phenomenon. I think it is valuable that there is in the BVV a high level of sensitivity for the situation and group is across discussed with very much empathy. We should not remain stuck in mutual blame, but us, together, take up this Problem.
talk to use in the Ulap Park, where the police took a homeless with a burp cloth above the head. The social and hygienic Situation was in the district but actually known for a long time. How can you prevent such situations in the future?
the fact that no Minors or families were affected, not in my Department. Generally speaking, I know from my time in the train station mission: If the individual misconduct of the police or the private security services for an atmosphere of fear and exclusion makes more difficult the work of social workers and the institutions behind it. A higher sensitivity would be desirable, therefore, I consider the approach taken by the district mayor, to put on better qualification is a good step.
another big issue is the long waiting times for birth and death certificates, but also on wedding dates. How do you want to get a handle on it? The Situation is difficult, because we simply state officials are missing. The Offices have adequate personnel. The budget negotiations are soon, then the accents have to be set. In the administration, we need to respond to the challenges of a growing city. This is a big task, unfortunately, there is no one measure will solve. In the process, but you also have to always remember where we come from in Berlin. We have operated for decades, management of deconstruction and the town shrank. The trend has reversed in recent years.
Where you want to put accents?
In the middle, we must ask ourselves again and again, the needs of the people. The district is extremely heterogeneous. It needs to go so that all people can have on our social life. For me, in the early childhood education and the task that the children receive, independently of immigrant or social and economic position of a perspective for the future begins. Say high-quality childcare facilities, and the well-equipped youth facilities. As in the case of homelessness, the intention is to prevent exclusion.
keyword “exclusion”: How is it for you as a Black forest girl in Berlin?
Many of you know, the not at all and think I was “Ur-Berliner”. I came here in 2005 for my studies in Berlin, and since 2009 I live in Moabit. I just like the charm and the historical places there, like the Arminius market hall or the turbine factory. As Newcomers, I had to get involved but for a long time a barrier to me locally, politically.
How you perceive in your neighborhood since 2009, the change?

feel It is a daily and visible. In my direct neighbourhood of the apartments have been converted to property and the low take off had to be in the neighborhood-rooted families. You’d have to be blind not to see the gentrification.
