It was a week ago that former miljöpartisten Carl Schlyter published on DN Debate to a new party had been formed with the name of the Party turning point. His justification was that, according to him was missing a party that combines a radical climate policy, with a radical politics of equality.

It is also what has attracted Max Andersson to the Party turning point. He has been a member of parliament and now the latest member of the EUROPEAN parliament for the MP. Last week he said goodbye to his old party in a Facebookinlägg.

“because I am convinced that Sweden needs a party that both take the climate crisis seriously, and seems for the reduction of economic disparities,” says Max Andersson.

Crucial to the he decision was that the MP chose to go into januariavtalet which together with S, C and L have made up about the government and committed itself to a budgetary cooperation.

– Now when we have a government that is dependent on the right-wing parties, the Centre party and the Liberals, who dream of tax cuts for the already well-to-do, and gets allergic rashes of a small airport tax, then it is not possible to both reduce the gaps and deliver climate action in the weight class that is required, ” says Max Andersson.

Now he wants to help the Party turning point to campaign for the EUROPEAN elections which will be held on may 26. The first step on the way is to collect 1500 signatures to get the party registered.

Max Andersson is in this case prepared to be on any ballot, but seek not to be firstname.

” If you go from one party to another and directly to the top of the list, I think this looks bad.

the Left has social and economic equality as the major issue and in recent years has also enhanced their green profile. But the V was not an option for Max Andersson, who perceive Jonas Sjöstedt party as ”too collectivist”.

” I want to strengthen the individual. And so has the Left party its history, ” he says.

Parting from the MP, he describes as ”sorgesamt”.

” But the party has moved away from where I am standing in the crucial issues and now I feel more at home in this new party that I believe can bring about change. I wish MP the best of luck but it is not the party I stand closest to now.

the Party turning point writes in a press release that a week has received 700 members and collected 270.000 sek. The petition is going on need have resulted in 1500 signatures before February 28.

the Party’s founder, Carl Schlyter, was for many years a leading figure in the MP. He ran as a mouthpiece in 2002, but lost to Peter Eriksson. For several years he was one of the party’s representatives in the EU parliament. In 2014, he took place in the parliament and became the EU-the chairman of the board. Carl Schlyter, however, soon at odds with the party leadership, which according to him went too far in its compromises with the Socialists in, for example, migration and defence.

Even the former MP mps Valter Mutt and Annika Lillemets has gone over to the turning point.
