Beveren For the fourth time in less than two weeks ‘ time, on the roundabout in the Verrebroekstraat in head office in verebroek a heavy traffic accident occurred. The lighting is two weeks failure and previous accidents is the concrete guardrail already heavily damaged.

The accident happened Saturday morning at 6.15 am. A young man from Haasdonk reed coming out of head office in verebroek in the direction of E34 but noticed through the darkness, and missing road signs to the roundabout and stray blocks to let on. The man drove without brakes on the heavy concrete blocks giving the car a head hit, and about 30 meters further on the roundabout to a halt. As if by miracle ran the driver barely injured. An ambulance came on the spot and gave him on-the-spot care for, but he had not taken to the hospital. His car, a Peugeot 3008, was seriously damaged and was hoisted. The fire brigade had a lot of opkuiswerk. The roadside and the roadway layers littered with debris, glass and oil. Traffic was temporarily affected.

The accident is likely again the result of defective street lighting. That is on and near the round-about for about two weeks defect. The reflective road signs that the turn just before the roundabout must indicate all previous accidents killed. Also the reflectors on the concrete blocks themselves are gone. After the previous accidents, there was already a lot of criticism on the dangerous situation with heavy concrete blocks scattered in the grass. The city council had earlier already know, in the Flemish region will push for urgent repairs to carry out on both the signage as street lighting.
