Temse Saturday night had the fire brigade Temse and Waasmunster pull up to the Reekstraat in Tielrode to a horse rescue. The mare, Monica called, was in a swamp zone in next to her pasture and was not on its own strength.

A casual passer-by had the animal in need noted. He called the owners and the fire brigade and put out a helping hand in the rescue. There were several attempts and a lot of manpower needed to keep the animal out of the mud to pull. The police also put the hands out of the sleeves. After a lot of sleurwerk managed it to the horse on the dry to get. The mare Monica had to get but after some encouragement it was animal, five minutes later, back on her legs. Since they are light hypothermic was hit, she was immediately taken to her stable transferred. The firefighters were there dirty clothes on but that was nothing compared to the joy for the successful rescue operation.
