Bruges The Visspaanstraat in Bruges was in the night from Saturday to Sunday, closed after a gas leak. Thirty-one residents had their leave home. A part has been placed in a shelter by the Red Cross, others sought shelter with family. Sunday morning around 10.45 am was the leak plugged, and allowed all residents back home.

Several residents of the Visspaanstraat, a side street of the Katelijnestraat in the city centre of Bruges, noticed yesterday around 23 hours a drip pan on in their street. The Bruges fire department rushed to the spot and found that the gas had spread through the sewage system. Twenty-four residents were immediately evacuated to the nearby Novotel. The Visspaanstraat was concluded between the Catherine and the Oude Gentweg.
