The Telepizza with the highest turnover in Spain is neither in Madrid nor in Barcelona, but in the center of Tarragona (Avenida Marquès de Montoliu). “All of Catalonia is a good sales area, but especially the Tarragona area thanks to the work done by its franchisee,” they explain from the KKR-controlled pizzeria chain.

The store is a fairly standard Telepizza, with 300 square meters and 40 employees, but all of this franchisee’s establishments are highly integrated with their community, as they collaborate with local cultural and sports entities, as well as with city festivals. The result is “great customer service and very important local sales thanks to the effort and investment they make.”

Saturday is the busiest day of the week for this place, which sells more than 500 pizzas every weekend, with Telepizza Barbacoa being its star product. However, there are several milestones throughout the year that trigger these figures. Big football matches are key to sales and, in fact, the last Champions League final between Real Madrid and Livepool, held on May 28, is so far the day with the most sales of the year for the establishment .

However, its strong activity on other dates when the customer does not want to cook is also striking, as is the case between January 1 and 5 of each year, reaching more than 800 pizzas sold in one day, 60 % more than the normal sale during a whole weekend of the rest of the year.
