The 62% of internet users in Spain is paying for content with some kind of subscription on both platforms of streaming video OTT (Netflix, HBO, Amazon, etc.) as pay-tv IPTV (Movistar+, Vodafone TV, and the Orange TV), compared to 51% in 2017, according to the result of the report Viewer Now! 2018, carried out by the consultancy The Cocktail Analysis. Of the subscribers, a 43 per cent have IPTV in the home, a 36% pay for some OTT, and 17% have both services. Internet users represent 86% of the population.

The report, commissioned by Movistar, confirms the strong expansion of the platforms of video streaming. 90% of the users states that he knows of the existence of platforms such as Netflix and HBO, the 45% is currently used, although only a 36% pay the subscription (shared or individual).
