The pilots union SNPL France Alpa has denounced on Thursday the “unacceptable practices” of the “free rider” seeking to impose cuts in pay to the drivers, while the transport air passes through a major crisis related to the epidemic of Covid-19.

“A questionnaire sent by an investment company (Brookfield aviation) in the midst of a crisis asked the drivers what cuts of remuneration they were willing to accept to continue to be able to exercise their profession” and “if they were willing to work for free,” growls the union in a press release. The pilots need to fly regularly, at least on the simulator, to maintain the validity of their license, noted Olivier Rigazio, of the executive office of SNPL France Alpa, questioned by the AFP.
