The PP’s Deputy Secretary for Institutions, Esteban González Pons, has predicted that Spain is “facing a very severe economic crisis” that is “almost an emergency” and has criticized the fact that the Government and its president, Pedro Sánchez, “have failed in the diagnosis and solutions” since “they did not see the crisis coming as Zapatero did”.
This was expressed this Saturday in Valencia during the act of celebration of the first anniversary of the election of Carlos Mazón as president of the PPCV, where González Pons lamented that today “lights rise again by almost two percent despite all the measures of the Government” and that inflation is “the highest of all the big countries in the euro zone”.
Thus, he has reproached the Government of Spain and in particular its president, Pedro Sánchez, that “they have failed in the diagnosis and in the solutions” since “they did not see the crisis coming as Zapatero did and right now they are not carrying out any structural measure that allows us to correct the Budgets and prepare ourselves for what comes after the summer”.
“The recession is close, inflation does not stop growing and we do not see any truly effective measure to prevent one and the other,” he criticized, according to the Efe agency.
“It’s been a long time since the risk premium has felt on our side, but make room for it because it’s possible that after the summer it will come back, that the interest on the debt will grow, that prices won’t moderate their growth, that employment will begin to show affected and that Spain as a whole is impoverished,” he warned, while predicting that “a very severe crisis” is approaching.
On the other hand, González Pons has announced that “within a few days” his party will present its proposal to the Government to renew the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ), whose mandate has expired for more than three years, in order to “guarantee their independence from politicians”.
The deputy secretary of the PP has defended the need to renew the judicial body and has specified that it will be “in a few days” when its formation sends its proposal to the Government, to “guarantee the independence” of Justice.
Pons has made Sánchez ugly, who rejects pacts with the ‘popular’ in matters of defense or justice, among others, and not with Bildu, who are “the heirs of ETA”, on democratic memory. “Not even the mother who gave birth to him knows this PSOE,” he has expressed.
The ‘popular’ leader has claimed the policy of pacts that the PP has offered to the Government of Pedro Sánchez and has mentioned three specific cases: an economic agreement, another to eliminate the term ‘diminished’ from the Constitution and the third on defense policy .
However, he has regretted that the three cases “did not deserve” a response and has confessed that the PP gets a “foolish face” when the Government tells them “thank you” or directly “they don’t even tell us.” But he has defended that, in the face of this, the ‘popular’ are “responsible and adults” and their formation “will not stop offering state pacts” to “help Spain”.
For all these reasons, he has considered that the Government “has misunderstood the result of the Andalusian elections and, instead of reading that, as in the rest of Spain, Andalusia asks politicians to return to the center, to dialogue and harmony , they have believed that they have to turn even more to the extreme left”.
