A new record. The Deadpool 3 trailer, unveiled Sunday night during the Super Bowl finale, was viewed more than 365 million times in 24 hours, Marvel Studios and Disney reported. This trailer thus dethrones that of Spider-Man – No Way Home, which held the previous record with 355 million views in less than a day in 2021.
The Deadpool 3 trailer notably benefited from the international influence of the Super Bowl and its 123 million spectators. In this new opus, eagerly awaited by MCU fans for six years, the superhero played by Ryan Reynolds is accompanied by Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman. The American actor, who had abandoned his yellow and blue costume since the film Logan in 2017, appears briefly at the end of the trailer. In the short video, many references to the X-Men franchise are also depicted.
In the previous installment of Deadpool, two new characters were introduced to the audience; Cable, played by Josh Brollin, and Domino, played by Zazie Beets. In this third feature film, directed by Shawn Levy and written by screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, other stars have joined the cast. Spectators will thus find, alongside Ryan Reynolds, Emma Corrin (The Crown) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession) when the film is released in French theaters on July 24.
