For the government, there is no doubt, “we need a new industrial sector” to promote “made in France”. Among the 300,000 heat pumps manufactured in France, “only 60% of their content is French”, with “a lot of electronics coming from Asia”, noted the Minister of Industry this Wednesday morning on Sud Radio .

In order to increase this share of “made in France”, Roland Lescure is considering two solutions. The first would be for the three French companies producing heat pumps: “We need to help them install factories, thanks to tax credits.” The second concerns consumers, called to “buy French and European”.

Roland Lescure admits, heat pumps are expensive, between 10,000 and 15,000 euros. Problem is, current aid is granted for all productions, including outside Europe. “We are going to change that and ensure that the bonuses are reserved for French or European heat pumps,” specifies the Minister of Industry. For the latter, if this avenue is still under consideration, it could be implemented in 2025.
