While the sun is peeking out this week, the Pentecost weekend should be a source of many trips for the French. Overall, it is the journeys linking leisure places and nearby towns which will experience heavy traffic at the start and end of these three days of break for workers.

Thus, departures should be distributed between Friday afternoon, classified red, and Saturday morning with increased attendance in coastal areas. According to bison futé, traffic should be busy on the A7, along the Mediterranean Arc and on the Atlantic coast (A11, N165 and A63).

In Île-de-France, traffic will be heavy from late Friday morning towards the various toll gates, particularly on the A6 and A10 motorways. The ring road and the A86 and A6B motorways will also be affected by these difficulties. Travel flows are expected to continue until late in the evening. Furthermore, the A13 motorway should still be closed to traffic between Paris and Vaucresson and Bison Futé recommends that Ile-de-France motorists traveling towards Normandy take the A14, the A15 or the N12.

If Sunday is classified as green in the direction of returns, traffic will be difficult on Pentecost Monday nationally throughout the afternoon. In particular on the motorways of the Mediterranean Arc (A7 and A9) and the axes serving the West of the country (A63, N165). In the direction of returns towards Île-de-France, from late morning, traffic will be heavy on the A10 and A6 motorways.

Consequently, traffic difficulties will be recorded throughout the afternoon and could still be present until late in the evening, mainly on the A10. The A13, which should once again be open in the direction of returns to Paris, could also experience traffic difficulties from mid-afternoon and until late in the evening. Motorists who can do so should therefore prefer to return on Sunday evening.
