If you are planning to go to Lyon, Paris, Nantes or Rennes soon, the flash sale announced by the SNCF may interest you. For the two years of its “Lent Ouigo” offer, the company will put on sale, Tuesday and Wednesday, 50,000 tickets from its ultra low-cost offer at 5 euros. They will be accessible on the ouigo.com website.

Launched in 2022, this “Ouigo slow” train offer, called “Ouigo Train Classique”, now serves 20 destinations in France (Paris, Lyon, Rennes, Nantes, Angers, Dijon, Le Mans, Chartres, Laval, etc.). .), at even lower prices than the Ouigo Grande Vitesse, but at slower speeds. These pink and blue trains are in fact fitted out with old refurbished Corail cars, and run on classic lines and not high-speed lines.

So, if tickets are priced between 10 and 49 euros, you have to be more patient. For a Rennes-Paris journey, for example, it takes between 3h30 and 5h, compared to 1h30 to 2h for an Ouigo Grande Vitesse. And 4h30 to 5h to get from Paris to Lyon, compared to 1h40 to 2h15 for its faster cousin.

On the SNCF side, we are pleased that this offer has found its audience. “Since its launch in 2022, Ouigo Train Classique has already won over more than 2 million travelers on the Paris-Lyon and Paris-Nantes lines and 60% of tickets have been sold for less than 20 euros”, underlined last March Jérôme Laffon , director of Ouigo, at the time of the addition of Rennes among the destinations served. Two new routes are being considered, without launch dates having yet been revealed: one between Paris and Bordeaux and the other between Paris and Brussels, in partnership with SNCB, the Belgian equivalent of SNCF.
