There will be people on the roads of France, on the occasion of the long weekend of May 1st. The coming days will mark the end of the school holidays in zone B, as well as the start of the second week of the holidays in zone C. A crossover is therefore expected, while in parallel, the spring holidays start in Belgium and the Netherlands: “A lot of trips are therefore expected on the entire national road network, especially if the weather conditions are favorable”, summarizes Bison futé. However, “these trips should be spread over time and thus limit the phenomena of congestion on the roads”, adds the service.

If we look at the day-by-day forecasts, Bison Futé anticipates Friday the first slowdowns in Île-de-France from “the end of the morning towards the toll gates of the A10 and A6 motorways as well as on the axes converging towards these motorways “. Traffic will then be “very difficult” from mid-afternoon until early evening. “The A13 motorway could also experience traffic difficulties from the start of the afternoon”, notes Bison Futé, who advises leaving or crossing Île-de-France before 12 p.m. Friday.

For the day on Saturday, “traffic levels should generally be lower, but traffic will remain dense in Île-de-France in the direction of departures, in particular on the A10, A6 and A6b, A13 and A86 motorways”, move the organization forward. Motorists should expect difficulties on the roads from the start of the morning. They will intensify in the middle of the morning and will continue until the middle of the afternoon. Bison Futé thus advises leaving or crossing Île-de-France before 8 a.m. on Saturday.

Sunday will be “green” throughout France, before new difficulties Monday in the Paris region in the direction of returns, “in particular towards the various toll gates in the region”. People are expected on the roads from the beginning of the afternoon and until late in the evening, “especially on the A10, A6 and A13 motorways, especially if the weather has been good,” says Bison Futé. Ideally, motorists are advised to reach or cross Île-de-France before 2 p.m. Monday.
