“Congratulations to Inoxtag”. Since mid-afternoon on social networks, numerous X accounts (ex-twitter) have communicated about the arrival, at the summit of Everest, of YouTuber Inoxtag. This expedition, started two months ago by the popular videographer, required a year of preparation and his community is eager to know if their idol has achieved the feat of climbing the 8,849 meters of the roof of the world. But in reality, nothing is confirmed. We take stock.

The rumor started from a Facebook publication from the Himalaya Vision Treks agency, which accompanies Inoxtag in its ascent, which congratulates its clients and Sherpas for having reached the summit of Everest this Tuesday, May 21. “The Himalaya Vision Treks team was 100% successful in climbing the world’s highest peak Everest (south side) this morning May 21, 2024.” The only problem is that the publication has since been deleted.

On April 13, a Canadian mountaineer said on Facebook that he was on the same expedition as Ines Benazzouz (Inoxtag) and her guide, Mathis Dumas. “Life is funny sometimes,” laughed the main person concerned, with photos of the list of expedition participants to support it. On May 20, the climber in question shared a new post to confirm that he had arrived at Camp 4 located at 7,900 meters above sea level. The one closest to the summit of Everest. Internet users are therefore convinced that the 22-year-old videographer is part of this group.

Since then, but without any confirmation, the information has been circulating on widely followed accounts on X. The latter do not specify that the agency’s post was deleted in the evening.

Person. The YouTuber’s latest news dates from May 18. On TikTok, one of the sherpas of the expedition gave live news and confirmed that Inoxtag and his guide Mathis Dumas were at camp 2, located at 6,500 meters above sea level. A video relayed by the X account “Inoxtag Everest”, owned by the mountaineer Diarkos who closely follows the videographer’s ascent.

But if we refer to the weather information available, it seems that the YouTuber’s ascent took place in extreme conditions between camps 2 and 4.

At this stage, there is no tangible confirmation that the YouTuber has succeeded in the challenge he set for himself a little over a year ago. Contacted by Le Figaro, those around him confirm that they do not want to communicate on the subject. Only an Instagram publication should provide news of the young man’s state of health. Without specifying, however, whether he succeeded in climbing Everest.

Behind this communication strategy, the YouTuber hopes to preserve the suspense over the outcome of his rise. A documentary retracing his preparation and the different stages of his route to Everest should be broadcast next September. An operation for which he invested between 600,000 and 1.2 million euros.

The documentary will normally be available for free on the Inoxtag YouTube channel. Until then, the main person concerned should not speak again on the subject. To the great dismay of his fans, who can’t wait to see him “silence the haters”, who did not believe in his success.
