Indic, uncle, cousin, cookie, balance…Since the dawn of time, the police officer and his informant are a couple that is at once mythic and against the order of nature serving as the frame of stories glaucous, sometimes sépulcraux and bordering on often the caricature. For the first time may be in the universe of the COMIC, Gost 111, published by Glénat, offers a dive in cold in a shadow theatre both thrilling and realistic.

Born from the imagination of Henry Scala, pseudonym of a member of the French police who bathes in the last twenty years in the investigation and the fight against organised crime, this polar dizzying tells the story of Goran, a great big father of the family of yugoslav origin who falls in unemployment before getting embringuer without knowing it in a shipment of drugs and end up in the clutches of a cop of the brigade of “Stups”. With her “head like the misery”, Goran, who knew nothing of the police, and almost nothing about the world of the rogue, is recruited as “uncle”. The mechanism that leads him to give information at the peril of his life, is relentless. The narration, co-written by Mark Eacersall, a script writer, franco-british come from the audiovisual sector, is gasping.
Worn by the trait expressive of Marion Moss, Gost 111, title born to the number of Goran the “balance”, oozes the fear of being unmasked. Devoid of any value judgement, or moral point of view, this graphic novel describes in clinical behind the scenes of the judicial police and the handling in all its glory.
At the end of 200 pages, containing a true slang of the police and where the dialogues are fly, the tandem cop-indic is revealed in a new light. “The idea was not to make a documentary in pictures, but rather, as in a good yogurt with fruit, insert bits of experience into a set which is very realistic,” says the Figaro, the commissioner “hidden” Henri Scala. Absolute Fan of BD – a tropism family since the library of his parents is packed with over 10,000 albums, this policeman past by a number of prestigious services, the grants to be happy: “This story could be read as a breviary of all that a police officer should not do, namely, encourage their sources to participate in the crimes or even did not inform his superiors.”
Full of twists and turns and shots of adrenaline, Gost 111 consider, for its realism and its narrative power, to the release in 2012 of the excellent polar RG (Gallimard Comic book), drawn by Frederick Peeters, and it was written in 2012 by Pierre Dragon, another police officer under pseudo. Exploring this vein with relish and a real talent, Henri Scala will release a second BD “black” in the fall of that plant, this time the scenery in the middle of the drug traffickers in Grenoble. There is no doubt that the chicken pen.
