you have been given some of the Switzerland concert. Do you remember your first?
I think it was around 2004 in the Red factory. We arrived with the tour bus at the lake of Zurich, and there sat a naked man and Smoking a pipe. I remember how I thought at that time: so This is the Switzerland.
Did you like this picture?
Yes, I thought that was cool. In the meantime, I know that Zurich has some of the best museums in the world. The Kunsthaus is a blast.
With their new Album “Aladdin”, they released a movie. Parts of the scenery presented in the Fondation Beyeler. This time you have drawn a Comic. The music’s not enough for you?
The music is always there, it is to some extent a by-product of my life. And it helps to Situate my Songs remind me of where I was to a certain point in time and how it came to me at the time. With a book or a Film, you spend months, sometimes years. This is different, much more focused.

is it True that your Comic is supposed to be also to have a movie?
Yes, but my ideas are just not very commercial. For personal Work there is in today’s world, no funding.
does that bother you?
I have a family and an interesting life, and I would want my career against any other exchange. But I feel, as an artist, sometimes misunderstood.
to what Extent?
I think art is of value if it is marketed as a commercial product. But a Comic is not a Red-Bull can, you must strive to understand the thoughts behind it. Today, no one takes more time. This Vibe bothers me.
your new Album “Engine of Paradise” has a playing time of 21 minutes. Why?
Yes, it is short. However, I think that many people would even seven minutes is still too much.
It is also their tenth Album. They had special thoughts on this?
I wanted to feel that it sounds like a 30 year barrel aged Whiskey or Cognac; warm and comfortable, to something with which you are comfortable.
What is the connection to the Comic?
“war and Paradise” is a quasi-Sequel to “Aladdin”, and plays in the same world, called the Regular World. The people there go in the war against AI-insect, a hyper-intelligent race that was created by a Tech entrepreneur. They are afraid that the insects are stealing their Jobs.

you have written the story together with your wife, Yasmin, who works at Google.
Exactly. We talk a lot about the interfaces of art, technology and politics, and about what it means to live in this technological Tornado. This influenced my work a lot.
How they relate to conspiracy theories?
Yasmin is an expert, that’s why I know some. My current favorite is that the tobacco lobby is behind the messages, Vaping is carcinogenic.
That sounds at least credible.
