Error says the display. In bright red. And it says: reconnect. It’s 8:04 p.m. on March 11, I’m standing at a charging station in the multi-storey car park on the Italian side of the Brenner Pass, and the car still has a slim 32 percent of its capacity. It’s already dark outside. Now the dense snowfall sets in, after I drove through the early summer Po Valley in the afternoon. I’m parked in the Brenner car park, a good 140 kilometers from my home in Gmund am Tegernsee, and the car won’t charge. Well, you might say there are worse things, you could go out to eat with Karl Lauterbach or have a partner who is involved in the climate stickers. It also says: reconnect. How hard can that be?
