Sophie Zelmani has described their discs as a chapter in a book, and when she writes her twelfth, she continues to explore the lågmäldhetens point of intersection with the carefully arranged popballader in cooperation with the parhästen Lars Halapi. Phrasing is unmistakably her, with the same immediate vicinity as the debut in the mid-90s.
Some major changes have not occurred in Zelmanis ljudvärld since then. Rather, it is in the details that the movement itself is – in flirt with a vibrant, yet restrained bossa nova in ”Giving good a plan” and in the P4-popen in ”Only a miracle” which, albeit fleeting, bursting up in a straddled crescendo.
in the texts Zelmani emerges in full view and then especially in the title track, as well as in the hudlösa ”In control”, in which she nails fixed deep human experience of insecurity and inadequacy.
