In September 2016, graced Noor Tagouri, the cover of “Playboy”. This was dispensed with in March of the same year, naked photographs, the then 22-year-old American journalist was the first to be a Muslim for the US magazine scan; it showed up in casual modern clothes and a head scarf.

The “Playboy” had Tagouri selected for the series, “Renegades 2016”: The section showed people who used everything risk, to do what you love.
Gross was Tagouris anticipation, to be around two and a half years later, for the American edition of “Vogue” shoot. Their pictures appeared in the February issue of 2019 (with Reese Witherspoon on the Cover). Excited Tagouri of her husband was in movies, as she opened at New York’s JFK airport, an issue of the Fashion MAG. “This is so cool, I’m going crazy,” she said in a first reaction. But then she noticed a mistake: “Wait, stop.” In disbelief she closes the magazine and asks: “Are you kidding me?”

I’m SO heartbroken and devastated. Like my heart actually hurts. I’ve been waiting to make this announcement for MONTHS. One of my DREAMS of being featured in American @Vogue magazine came true!! We finally found the issue in JFK airport. I hadn’t seen the photo or the text. Adam wanted to film my reaction to seeing this for the first time. But, as you can see in the video, I was misidentified as a Pakistani actress named Noor Bukhari. My name is Noor Tagouri, I’m a journalist, activist, and speaker. I have been misrepresented and misidentified MULTIPLE times in media publications – to the point of putting my life in danger. I never, EVER expected this from a publication I respect SO much and have read since I was a child. Misrepresentation and misidentification is a constant problem if you are a Muslim in America. And as much as I work to fight this, there are moments like this where I feel defeated.
The magazine identified the journalist as Pakistani actress. Instead of Noor Tagouri, the Name Noor Bukhari is next to the photos.
Tagouri, who studied at the University of Maryland, made from of your disappointment no secret.
Not for the first Time
was heartbroken and devastated, she wrote via social media. For months you’ve been waiting for the publication of the images in “Vogue”, one of her dreams had become true. Now her heart hurt.
“My Name is Noor Tagouri, I’m a journalist, activist and public speaker,” she wrote. It was not the first Time that she had been portrayed in the media is wrong, or identified, and her life was already in danger, so Tagouri.
Vogue: “Caused embarrassment”
The embarrassing faux pas the responsible reached: “We regret the error, sincerely,” wrote the “Vogue”. It was the opportunity to photograph Tagouri and to throw a light on their important work, excited, “have you incorrectly identified, rode a painful missing”, it means more.
The editors will strive in the future to be especially for topics about White – thoughtful and cautiously. It is a sorry “for the embarrassment we have caused Tagouri and Bukhari followed”.
From the “Vogue”, you’ve come to respect so much and since her Childhood reading, she would have expected the never. Misrepresentations and false identifications are for Muslims in the US, a constant Problem, wrote Tagouri, who also dreams of being the first hijab-wearing presenter on US television. Slightly resigned, she added: “I feel beaten.”
So Tagouri experienced the work at the Playboy Set
