Malaga and the Balearic Islands lead this exclusive category, concentrating an astonishing 70.8% of the total of these properties. Malaga, with its beachfront villas and prestigious developments, is home to 36.3% of these homes, while the paradisiacal Balearic Islands account for 34.5%.
However, Madrid and Barcelona, as the main Spanish cities, are not far behind in this segment. Madrid, the country’s capital, is home to 9.1% of ultra-luxury homes, reflecting its status as a financial and cultural center. For its part, Barcelona, with its mixture of modernity and historical heritage, has 5.5%. The coasts of Alicante and the landscapes of Girona complement this list with 5.2% and 3% respectively, showing that ultra-luxury has multiple facets and destinations in Spain.
Although the luxury market has a broad presence throughout Spanish territory, there are provinces where this presence is minimal. Provinces such as Palencia, Soria and Zamora have only one luxury home advertised on idealista. Others, such as Teruel, León and Cuenca, also show quite low figures in this sector.
