Finally! This question had to be asked, after the Swiss population has decided nearly two years ago with the new energy act, the conversion of the Swiss power supply. The focus is on the promotion of solar power. A Boom has triggered the people’s vote obviously.

This is not, however, the basic aversion to the sun energy. The photovoltaic system is not only a desire of green do-gooders. Solar electricity has become attractive. Because today environmental protection and clean energy are many. Because the solar panels have grown up with a sophisticated, digital technology, modern – the power of the energy package for the Young and trendy. In addition, the price of a solar system has been halved in the last few years – and the trend continues to decrease.

However, the breakthrough in Switzerland. The share of solar energy in electricity production amounts to almost 3 percent – in Germany, he is three times higher. What is the reason? The government of our neighboring country has subsidized solar energy much earlier. In Switzerland there are, however, in the right-bourgeois political circles and the large energy companies still consider today, whether the construction of a decentralized energy supply is the way to go. Added to this are structural barriers: The protection of historic buildings, for example, prevents initiatives.

it is not a lack of demand. Tens of thousands of solar projects are on the subsidy list of the Federal government. However, the waiting period is long. The lack of promotion was mainly industrial, commercial and farmers to invest in medium-sized and larger plants. In roofs of industrial and agricultural buildings are suitable for PV installations. The sun’s energy, according to the trade Association Swissolar for new homes and renovations today. More than 9100 PV systems were installed in 2017 on single-family homes.

Maybe the boost is coming in the next few years. Swissolar is confident. For this year, the Federal office for energy has increased the funding quotas. Investors for larger installations now have to wait not six, but only three years on the compensation. Operators of small plants already received after one and a half years of funding. Now, the bureaucratic burden must be reduced in the construction of photovoltaic plants – then we hopefully we’ll see more solar panels on Swiss roofs.
