“A rescue operation is underway to locate the last miner in Rudna. Two people are in hospital,” writes KGHM on Twitter.
32 people worked in the mine when the quake occurred. The deepest of its eleven shafts are 1.25 kilometres.
The european seismological institute EMSC measured the quake’s magnitude at 4.8. The Polish etermediebolaget Polskie Radio reports that it received the buildings to shake in several surrounding towns.
