After a long tug of war with the mandatory CO2 limits for factory new Cars and light commercial vehicles up to 2030. Cars to reduce the fuel consumption, measured in CO2 emissions per Kilometer driven, by 2030, some 37.5 percent, compared to 2021. By 2025 has been set as a reduction target of 15 percent. In the case of vans, the fuel consumption from 2021 to 2025 should be reduced to 15 percent from 2021 to 2030, to 31 percent. The negotiators of the two Co-legislators of the EU, i.e. the Parliament and to the Council Monday agreed to elfstündiger negotiation. Thus, the manufacturer now have planning security up to 2030.
in Addition, an incentive system for the promotion of vehicles, it was decided that no or little fossil fuel to consume. Incentives should there be for manufacturers to bring these fuel-efficient cars in the 14 States on the market, where there is, as yet, in comparison, especially a few low-emission cars. In many Eastern European countries such as Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania, there is virtually no E-cars. A large part of the load columns on EU-territory, in countries such as the UK, Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium and Austria. The Details of the incentive system still need to be worked out.
The positions were far apart
The negotiations between the Council and the Parliament were particularly difficult, because the positions were quite far apart. The EU had proposed to the Commission that cars and vans up to 2030, the fuel consumption will reduce by 30 percent by 2015, 15 per cent were provided. The Parliament called for 40 percent by 2030, and wanted to introduce a Malus-system, the manufacturer to penalties in the obligation, fail to reach the targets. The body of the member States of the Council of Ministers of the environment had committed to the goal of 35 percent in 2030.

environmental expert for the German CDU/CSU members of Parliament, Jens Gieseke, who has been involved in the negotiations for the Christian Democrats, was in the end satisfied with the overall result: “for Europe and For Germany as an industrial location much stand hugely in the game. We managed a total package of ambitious border and effective incentive mechanisms, which we call the industry, but not overwhelm.“ Gieseke has been used especially for delivery trucks, a less ambitious objective is set up as for passenger Cars, as in the case of Vans, the production cycles are much longer.
