Three broadcasters in the ARD family are currently being confronted with massive allegations and complaints from private newspaper publishers. The focus is on the digital offerings of Südwestdeutscher Rundfunk (SWR), Radio Bremen (RB) and Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR).
Because the broadcasters have greatly expanded their reporting on the Internet in recent years, many newspapers now fear for their business model – and thus for their existence.
