the ”Performance concert” is the royal Dramatic theatre’s new label on the concerts that take place in the ancient theatre. It is understandable that you do not want to just be a nifty local with finkulturell stamp lent to popular culture every now and then, but want to create more creative meetings where the two worlds cross-pollinate.

And it really is what happens when Malmörapparen Ozzy gives a unique concert at the royal Dramatic theatre’s small stage. It is far from an ordinary hiphopkonsert. To begin with, used beats in addition to in the concert’s last song, ”Cinderella”. Instead, Ozzy joined by a keyboardist, a violinist and the three female singers, one of which may perform a solo song.

Even the royal dramatic theatre actress Andreas T Olsson gets a solo, he shows up and in front of a monologue from a play, not clear what. Quirky but fun.

also the two dancers, whose choreography is the focus during the first two songs. Ozzy sits a little further back in the stage room, on a throne, wearing sunglasses, and is reminiscent not so much of a king but more of a Biggie Smalls from Rinkeby. He raps without touching a mine, but the voice is full of wobbly passion. The songs he performs is partly quite new, partly re-arranged versions of tracks from his amazing debut album ”One eye red” from last year.

Keyboardist and violinist play fine, but it lacks the hard, insistent rhythms Ozzys producer Durimkid composed. On the other hand, it is good that Ozzy is not trying to make a normal concert for a seated audience – Small scens salon is a bad dance floor. He also presents a couple of songs a cappella and then lets as an exceptionally inspired and relevant spoken word poet.

we find ourselves suddenly at a cozy outdoor café in the southern latitudes, complete with a parasol that Ozzy mounting on a somewhat comical way. His best, the rapper Valon, sitting down, and their a cappella version of ”Here all night” sounds really special.

It is an odd, unpredictable and highly personal hiphopkonsert, and unfortunately a bit too short – everything is to an end after forty minutes. Instead of a real encore play gang the last song, one more time, while Ozzy’s dancing around the outside of the stage. It gives a confused but charming impression.

Ozzy is one of the hiphopsveriges most interesting voices, with their obscure metaphors, suffering confessions and natural swag. After this artistic adventure, he has added another shade to his palette.
