U.S. relations with Venezuela have long been strained. Donald Trump has increased the pressure on the incumbent president Nicolás Maduro, through, inter alia, sanctions against the country.

In an interview with the AP tells us, however, Maduro that secret meetings have been held with Trumpadministrationen in New York city. When these meetings should have taken place is unclear.

“If he wants to meet, just tell me when, where and how, so will I,” says Nicolás Maduro to the AP.
Maduro did not want to share a few details about the meetings in New York more than that, it held two meetings, and both lasted for several hours.
