A new filter to save the TDC’s customers for the majority of a particular type of fupopkald, where a phone number from an exotic country calling up and put on to entice the recipient to call back with a large bill to follow.

the TDC does not want to disclose how the filter works. But it is automatic and has, according to the TDC proved able to stop 90 percent of the fupopkald called wangiri calls. The filter has been tested since november.

A wangiri call consists of a short call, before it is put on. Calling you back, you are often associated with a voice mailbox abroad, which draws a high price per minute.

so Far, TDC has tried to combat this kind of call, that customers should call in to the TDC, and when they saw it. Then, TDC has manually stopped the calls to and from each phone number.

The new filter will be made available to all TDC’s customers. It consequently includes more than three million customers of TDC, Telmore and Fullrate.

In spite of TDC’s faith in its own filter calls on the TDC is still in its customers to never call back numbers you do not know, unless he or she has posted a message and presented itself.
