Miroslav Klose becomes new coach of Nuremberg

Miroslav Klose has signed with FC Nuremberg. The former German international is the new coach of the 2. Bundesliga club. The club officially announced the arrival of the German legend on Tuesday morning.

Klose signed a contract on Tuesday morning to become the new coach of FC Nuremberg, who plays in the 2. Bundesliga. The 46-year-old former striker will start his duties on June 24, at the beginning of preparations for the new season. “Tradition, passion, honest work, great supporters – these are all things I love about football and associate with FC Nuremberg. That’s why I immediately seized the opportunity to become a coach here,” he said during his presentation at the club, alongside sporting director Joti Chatzialexiou.

Klose began his coaching career in 2016 as an assistant coach with the German national team, then went on to coach the U17 team at Bayern Munich starting in 2018. He then worked as an assistant coach at Bayern for a year (2020-2021). Most recently, he was the coach of an Austrian Premier Division club, SCR Altach.
