The Snowboard community has lost a great Visionary: Jake Burton Carpenter, founder of the Snowboard brand Burton, last night in Burlington in the US state of Vermont has died. He died at the age of 65 of cancer.
In an E-Mail to the employee’s business Manager, John Lacy confirmed the sad news: “With a very heavy heart that I share with Jake last night, peacefully died as a result of a complication of his cancer.”
Burton had been diagnosed in 2011, testicular cancer. After a therapy of Snowboard pioneer was considered to be cured. 12 days ago, but he told his employees that his cancer had returned.
Jake Burton Carpenter lived with his wife, Donna Carpenter, Co-CEO of Burton, in Zurich.
