Since a few days, Ole is Gunnar Solskjaer coach of Manchester United. The successor to the sacked Jose Mourinho is a United legend, at least since his decisive goal to 2:1 win in injury time for Manchester in the Champions League Final in 1999 against Bayern Munich.

“Manchester United always in my heart. It is great, now in this role return”, was Solskjaer is quoted on the United Website after taking up his post.

But apparently, it was not in Solskjaers heart is only a club. In England the media rumours that Solskjaer was in his youth a Fan of Liverpool persist. According to “talksport” is said to have been impressed by the Norwegians in recent years of Liverpool’s dominant play hard. Ironically, Liverpool, arch-Nemesis of Manchester United.

Solskjaer may not, however, confirmed to be in the days of his youth Liverpool Fan. When he was asked in 2016 as coach of Molde in an Interview afterward, he answered cryptically: “You learn as long as you live. This is the only answer I can give you … I’ve never confirmed.” And he put one on top of it: “I’m a through and through Manchester United Fan. I bleed red.”

In good company

Solskjaer would not be the only player or coach in the professional business, whose heart was beating in the past for a different club. More on this in the image track. (rom)
