the UNITED states’s national security adviser, John Bolton, said nothing about a military intervention, when he Monday presented new economic sanctions against Venezuela.

But a photo of John Bolton, which is taken during the press conference, has created attention in the UNITED states.

On a block, to which the adviser keeps under his arm, are the words: ‘5000 troops to Colombia.’

It was only after the press conference, that the american media noted the words on the yellow block.

The White House does not want to elaborate on the matter.

the President has made it clear that all options be kept open, says it succinctly to the Associated Press.

Colombia, which shares a border with Venezuela, is allied with the UNITED states in opposition to Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro.

Colombia’s foreign minister, Carlos Holmes, said, however, that he does not know why John Bolton had the words ‘5000 troops to Colombia’ on his block.

He stresses that Colombia will continue to put a ‘political and diplomatic’ pressure on Venezuela, writes the Asssociated Press.

president of the UNITED states, Donald Trump, has long been trying to push president Maduro to cede power to the opposition.

last week, the U.S. chose along with a number of other countries to recognise the opposition leader Juan Guaido as acting president instead of Maduro.

Maduro has, however, refused to cede power, which he won in a disputed presidential election in may.

Both the US and the EU has assessed that the elections had not lived up to even the lowest international standards.

– We have repeatedly revealed Maduro and his rhetorical style corruption, said John Bolton, when he announced the new sanctions against the state-owned oil company.

Nicolas Maduro says the UNITED states stands at the head of a coup attempt against him and his government, supported by the country’s military, as well as China and Russia.
