Half-founder Bastien Augusto approached the minimums for the Budapest Worlds (August 19-27) over 1,500m on Monday in Marseille, where Benjamin Robert had to stop his 800m.
Augusto took second place in the 1,500m in 3 min 34 sec 85, greatly improving his personal best. He approached the minima for the Worlds set at 3 min 34 sec 20 before the French Championships in Albi (July 28-30).
The 800m specialist Benjamin Robert, silver medalist at the Istanbul Indoor Euro in March, was forced to cut his effort at the very start of the race, feeling “discomfort in a hamstring”. He is one of the athletes who have already passed the minima for the World Championships.
