“With the quality we have in the team, we can be really dangerous,” said the Englishman Harry Kane, author with Bayern of his fourth hat-trick of the season on Saturday during the Munich demonstration against Mainz (8- 1).

After going through a catastrophic month of February with three consecutive defeats (including a 1-0 in the Champions League in Rome), and only four points taken out of twelve possible in the league, Bayern continued its recovery by outclassing Mainz (8-1 ), four days after qualifying for the quarter-finals of the C1 at the expense of Lazio (3-0).

It is seven points behind Bayer Leverkusen (57 against 64), undefeated leader this season which hosts Wolfsburg on Sunday (7:30 p.m.) at the end of the 25th day of the Bundesliga.

“If we play like we played the last two matches, with the quality we have in the team, we can be really dangerous,” Kane slipped in the mixed zone.

“Obviously it’s disappointing not to be higher in the league, but you have to give credit to Leverkusen, who are undefeated at this stage of the season, they are having a special season,” added the England captain .

“I came here to score goals and help the team as much as possible. We all want to win trophies, the Bundesliga, the Champions League,” Kane explained, evoking “mixed feelings, but the road is still long and I hope that some of my goals can be achieved by the end of the season”.

On the evening of the 25th day, Harry Kane totaled 30 goals in the Bundesliga (36 in total this season if we add the six scored in the Champions League), only eleven points behind the record season of Robert Lewandowski, who had scored 41 goals with Bayern in 2020/21, one more from Gerd Müller in 1971/72.
