Hit in the back before the semi-final return of the Champions League in Madrid and insufficiently recovered, Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane will be absent for the 33rd and penultimate day of the German championship, Sunday against Wolfsburg, announced on Saturday Thomas Tuchel.

“The four offensive players who started against Real will not be able to play tomorrow. Harry Kane still has back problems. During the warm-up, he had a blockage,” explained Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel on Saturday during the traditional match eve press conference. Top scorer in the Bundesliga with 36 goals for his first season in Munich colors, Harry Kane thus abandons almost all his chances of equaling the record of 41 goals in a Bundesliga season, set in 2020/21 by the center forward Polish Bayernman Robert Lewandowski.

On Friday, Bayern announced the injury of Serge Gnabry, victim of a torn left hamstring. “It’s going to be very close for the Euro,” said Thomas Tuchel.

Leroy Sané, who has been suffering from pubalgia for many weeks, and Jamal Musiala, suffering from a knee, will also be absent on Sunday for the final home match at the Allianz Arena.

Eliminated from the Champions League by Real Madrid (2-1 after leading 1-0 until the 88th minute), Bayern hosts Wolfsburg and travels to Hoffenheim for the last two days of the Bundesliga.

The Munich residents will end the season without a trophy, a first since the 2011/12 financial year, ceding the title of German champion for the first time since 2013, to Bayer Leverkusen. They are currently one point behind Stuttgart (69 against 70) in the fight for second place, before hosting Wolfsburg.
