International second row Thibaud Flament, injured in one foot, will be unavailable for at least three weeks, Stade Toulouse management announced on Thursday before the trip to Harlequins for the second day of the Champions Cup.

Flament (26 years old, 24 caps) has a fracture line in a big toe after being stepped on one foot during the victory against Cardiff (52-7) last weekend.

“We lost him for a little while,” declared the manager of the five-time European champions Ugo Mola at a press conference.

Winger Arthur Retière, injured in his hamstring against the Welsh, should also be unavailable for several weeks.

Right pillar Dorian Aldegheri, forced to withdraw at the last minute last week due to neck pain, is doing better, but still has to undergo examinations on Thursday evening.

“We are a little expectant” about it, said Mola. “We have our share of returns, our share of departures… All clubs encounter these problems, especially during the winter period, where there are a lot of glitches and injuries.”

Forfeited against Cardiff after suffering a concussion, international flanker François Cros received the medical green light to return to competition.

Hooker Julien Marchand, who has not played since the opening match of the World Cup with the Blues at the beginning of September, is training normally, like English third row Jack Willis. But the return of the two players, obviously lacking rhythm, could rather take place in the championship.

Finally, the Italian international fullback Ange Capuozzo, injured in a thigh, has “fallen a little behind”, according to his coach, and remains in the infirmary in the company in particular of the Argentinian Juan Cruz Mallia, injured in a hand.
