Olivier Krumbholz (France team coach, BeIN Sport): “We played well, getting into the match very well. We immediately gave them big problems and we never let go. Tamara Horacek had an excellent match and was very valuable in the second half to maintain the advantage. We played patiently and found solutions, especially with Estelle (Nze Minko). Today, we are really in a very good dynamic. They understood the importance of discipline, of playing with continuity, which allows us to be dangerous. And then we looked at what Germany had done in the quarterfinals against these Swedes and in my opinion, they had done the complete opposite of what needed to be done (…) Now, we are going to play a great final on Sunday. Norway came through the back door against Denmark, but they still came through with a breathtaking Reistad. She’s an incredible player and we’re going to have to find solutions to give them problems.”
Tamara Horacek (center half of the French team, BeIN Sport): “If I found my place in this team, it’s thanks to the lineups and all the staff. Today it was me, tomorrow it will be another line. Personally, I like this team, I enjoy it. Before this semi-final, we were obviously a little worried because the batteries were very low but we were able to remobilize ourselves. We were able to rely on good rotations. I think we started running on the slopes again and that put us in the right tempo, with a smile, our arms raised. It made our match easier.”
Laura Glauser (goalkeeper of the French team, BeIN Sport): “It feels good, it relieves, it’s a reward for all the sacrifices and the work put in since the start of the preparation. We knew that in this match, we had to start very strong. No matter how many stops I make, what I want is for us to go for that gold medal as a team. As a high-level athlete, that’s what we’re here for, to come and get this title. Personally, I really want it because I’ve never had it. In the final, if we are stable and aggressive, it will cause big problems for Norway. They are very square and if we manage to make a mess, in the French way, it can destabilize them.
