With each trip, its challenge. Emmanuel Macron has returned to the field in recent weeks, but his various visits have been marked by protests against the pension reform. And the final of the Coupe de France, which will oppose Nantes to Toulouse on Saturday (9 p.m.), could be part of this line.
The Head of State is expected, as every year, at the Stade de France for the final, where it is a tradition to shake hands with the players before kick-off, then hand over the cup after the match. But his reception promises to be stormy. Several unions and collectives invite people to wave a red card against Emmanuel Macron. “All with a red A4 sheet to lift at the 49th minute and 3rd second”, tweeted the collective “We stop everything – Toulouse”, in reference to article 49.3 of the Constitution.
The situation would not be totally unprecedented. During a match between the Blues and the Netherlands, already at the Stade de France on March 24, anti-Macron whistles and slogans fell from the stands after 49 minutes and 3 seconds of play. Saturday, the actions driven by the union could go further. Until the power goes out?

According to RMC Sport, “the threat is taken seriously” regarding a power cut at the Stade de France. “Four generators are provided in the stadium to deal with any eventuality,” informs RMC. Last Thursday, Macron went to Montpellier, where the power had been cut in the airport and in a college visited by the head of state.
The Élysée has not yet confirmed Macron’s presence at the Coupe de France final. Toulouse, which will play the first final in its history, will challenge Nantes, defending champion but who are fighting to stay in Ligue 1.
