PSG women qualified on Sunday for the final of the French Football Cup by eliminating Paris FC (3-3, tab 3-4), and joined Fleury for an unprecedented performance.
PSG, undefeated since last November, scared themselves but ultimately held on against the PFC, who managed to come back twice and even take the lead.
He will face FC Fleury on Saturday May 4 at the Mosson stadium, in Montpellier.
Against the PFC, PSG captain Grace Geyoro opened the scoring with a great inspiration from Marie-Antoinette Katoto (1-0, 13th), before the PFC came back to score for the first time on a penalty from captain Gaëtane Thiney ( 1-1, 28th).
Superior, Jocelyn Prêcheur’s players got back in front after the break thanks to a goal from Tabitha Chawinga (2-1, 56th).
But less than ten minutes later, PSG defender Sakina Karchaoui scored against her side on a big error (2-2, 64th), before Louna Ribadeira gave the PFC the advantage (3-2, 71st).
PSG managed to equalize through Chawinga again (85th) and tried everything at the end of the match to win but without success, leading to a penalty shootout as in the first semi-final, won to everyone’s surprise by Fleury against Lyon.
During the session, goalkeeper Katarzyna Kiedrzynek stopped the attempt of French international PFC Clara Mateo and captain Gaëtane Thiney did not convert her shot on goal.
Saturday, OL Women, defending champion, was eliminated on penalties on Saturday in the semi-final by FC Fleury 91 (0-0, tab 5-4), who achieved a great feat by qualifying for the first final in its history.
This is only the second time that OL will not play a Coupe de France final since 2012.
